Robert and Anne McGough - Celebrants. The Algarve
We are very pleased to announce that due to the continuing high demand
for celebrants in the Algarve, husband and wife team, Robert and Anne, experienced
celebrants have joined us. This excellent team has been working with us during 2010
and we are delighted that they are now a permanent part of our team.
Robert and Anne have been in the Algarve for the last seven years and during 2010 worked for Gay Weddings Algarve as celebrants. Both have professional backgrounds. Robert has worked as a Master of Ceremonies in both the UK and here in the Algarve and has had key roles in organizations like the Rotary club and Masons. The role of celebrant is well suited. Reliable and an excellent public speaker, he has vast experience working with people. Robert soon gains the confidence of his clients with his gentle manner and special interest in creating a unique ceremony to reflect the personality of the bride and groom.
"Being a celebrant is a special honour and I am fully aware of the importance of this. In particular, my experience in public speaking and working with people is a great asset."
"It is a rewarding undertaking to marry two people and Portugal is the perfect country for this. In particular I enjoy doing outdoor ceremonies with a vivid blue sky providing the ultimate backdrop. I am available for rehearsals and we can also discuss details by phone or e-mail. It is my aim to put you at your ease and make your wedding perfect for you. I usually meet for an informal chat prior to the wedding and discuss your special unique requirements. Many couples like to add their own readings, poems and even vows, and I am there to advise and offer help with all these aspects including music. You will therefore feel relaxed and confident for your special day."
Anne worked closely with a registrar in the UK and is able to add an air of authenticity to all her ceremonies. Whilst the ceremony is "symbolic" it should be recognised as the wedding event and given the attention to detail that a registrar would give. Anne has been happily married for over 20 years and feels strongly that the ceremony should be remembered forever by all the friends and family as well as the couple.
"The attention to detail whilst putting the ceremony together is of key importance and therefore I will work relentlessly for however long it takes to give my couples their perfect ceremony"
"I pay particular attention to guiding the couple with readings, poetry and of course the vows. Words of heartfelt love need to be conveyed throughout the ceremony. I believe that couples marrying will only ever get this one opportunity to say how they feel and it gives me a great sense of pride to see the couple join together in their lifelong commitment"
